I will go and do the things which the lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the things which he commandeth them. 1 Nephi 3:7

Elder Ho is 20! Happy Birthday to You!
After our District Meeting Tom and I took our missionaries out to celebrate Elder Ho's 20th birthday. This place served authentic Chinese food. Some of it was very new to me. Elder Chan is standing with Tom and me. He is our District leader. Seated from left to right is: Elder Wu, Elder Ho, Sister Kwun and Sister Lee. Elders Chan, Wu and Ho all knew each other back in Hong Kong. They are enjoying being together as a threesome right now. Sister Kwun is a wonderful pianist. She played at the special meeting on Saturday the 30th. Many, many of the young missionaries play very well, but she is tops. Too bad the seniors don't have a good pianist, and I get called on as a result of that. Sister Lee was born in Singapore and lived there until she was 9, but recently she has lived in Utah. All the Chinese missionaries play some musical instrument well. Elder Chan the violin, Ho the flute, the rest the piano. They are all dedicated missionaries and wonderful to work with.

The lazy susan in the middle of the table is very typical of restaurants in mainland China. Most of them are that color and size. Must be an authentic place as I couldn't see the subtitles.
ReplyDeleteIt is 90 in Nanjing today, not nearly that warm in Nova Scotia. It has been foggy and rainy for several days.
A bearing went in the temple washing machine so we are doing some of it at our place. Forty people are set to come for baptisms on Saturday--hopefully the laundromat down the street won't be too busy.
